Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) N.V. receives quality certification
Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) N.V., in short HCME, wants to contribute to society through technology. It wants to deliver and manufacture technology of the highest quality. This quality means not only the quality of the product but also the quality of the processes, especially production and management processes.
In order to reduce the negative effects of production on society HCME has committed itself to continually improve by implementing an integrated management system.
After a year of hard work Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) N.V. was audited in May 2005 by BVQI and received the certificates for the Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety management system for the production activities in Amsterdam. The Quality Management System, based on ISO 9001:2000, is now extended and certified according to ISO 14001:2004 for Environmental aspects and for Occupational Health and Safety according to the OHSAS 18001:1999 standard. We can now speak of an Integrated Management System.
Through this certification the HCME Amsterdam Factory implemented its Integrated Quality Policy and proved that it has a management structure to improve its performance continuously by controlling quality, the environmental impact and the labour conditions.
There were several reasons to implement an Integrated Quality Management System in Amsterdam. Through the implementation HCME shows that it is working towards greater process and operational control by enhancing efficiency. The continuous improvement of the quality of the products and processes addresses the demands made by our customers. By reducing the environmental impact of the production process we not only comply with legal demands but we keep our society and environment clean. Working on occupational health and safety keeps our employees better motivated for their jobs. By addressing the needs of all our stakeholders we will be a better player on the European excavator market.
In other words, HCME maintains a safe and healthy environment, for both employees and community and delivers products that are based on “Quality First".
