The new generation Wheel Loader, ZW series comes to the market here in South African countries.

Hitachi Construction Machinery Southern Africa Co Ltd proudly announced the new range of wheel loader, ZW series ZW220, ZW250 and ZW310. This new ZW series wheel loaders are packed with numerous innovate technologies and mechanics. Furthermore, total control of engine and pump torque is an industry’s first. This series of wheel loaders inherits the properties of big production, amazing mobility, less fuel consumption by improving the engine and hydraulic system, automatic transmission with load sensing system, and improvement of safe workability by wide panoramic cab. This new wheel loader brings out the maximum workload at various working conditions for you.

The new ZW series features…
Numerous technological advances for amazing mobility and big production.
Three working modes are selectable according to job needs and operator’s preference from P mode for heavy-duty excavation to L mode for light-duty excavation. In each working mode, TT* system controls the total torque of the engine and pump for well matching of penetration force and implement speed according to job needs.

Three travel modes/selectable clutch cutoff
Three travel modes can be selected according to job needs and operator’s preference. Speed shift timing can be automatically selected in response to travel speed and load, unlike conventional models that respond to only travel speed. Speed shift timing can be selected from approx. 100 options for smooth level. Quick, smooth speed shift can automatically be done with less shock by electronic control through helical gears. This gear allows speedy job to job travel with less soil spills in load and carry operation. Clutch cut off timing can be selected from three positions to suit various job conditions, including rapid operation on level ground, and surefooted operation on gradient.

On the new ZW series, 10% higher rise/run performance can be expected, boosting loading efficiency and increasing productivity.

The panoramic cab gives almost all round visibility with its widened front glass window and pillar less cab rear corners. Switches and controls are efficiently laid out for easy operation. Front wheels are always within view, enhancing safety and increasing loading efficiency. Plus the cab is well sealed, and the new low noise engine is utilized to reduce sound, after analyzing the channel of the noise and the layout of well-placed equipments. Ambient noise complies with the coming EU noise regulation 2000/14/EC, Stage II.

The Bi-level air conditioner allows air-conditioning at foot space and overhead simultaneously. Airflow volume and direction can automatically be adjusted according to the temperature setting. The pressurized cab stunts out dust and debris even in dusty environment. The optional air suspension seat can be adjust in multiple ways: weight-height, fore-aft position, backrest tilt, and armrest angle, seat cushion length and angle, headrest height and angle adjustment.

Reducing running cost
As well as reducing fuel consumption, the new ZW changed to the hydraulic oil replacement intervals, up from 2000 to 4000 hours. Plus for filter replacement intervals, it’s up to 500 hours. The HN bushing containing high-viscosity oil is provided at each joint to reduce grease consumption, extending lubrication intervals up to 500 hours, which is five times comparing with our existing model. The fresh air filter can easily be replaced from the cab, and circulation air filter is also. On the indicators, monitors and alarms, many LEDs are utilized for longer service life resulting in less failure, enhancing the reliability. And hydraulically operated cooling fan with heat sensing system bring the maintenance time shorter. The rotation of the fan cab be reversed for easy removal of dirt from the radiator and swing open for easy cleaning.

Enhanced durability
Durability is enhanced with a number of advanced mechanisms for long, continuous operation. The drive system such as transmission, differential gears and axles were designed for reducing noise and being increase service life. With the know-how Hitachi has, differential gears are thickened to increase rigidity and the brake housed in the axle. The box section frame is thickened and strengthened to resist torsion and increase durability. Center pins are widely spaced for higher resistance to torsion. Hydraulically operated fan can be adjusted depending on fluid temperature to effectively cool down coolant, hydraulic oil, transmission oil and torque converter oil. Aluminium radiator and oil cooler instead of steel and copper contributed the long life, preventing corrosion.

A cleaner machine
To adjusting environment, Aluminium radiator, aluminium oil filter is equipped. Moreover ,the ZW series is equipped with a clean but powerful engine to comply with Tier 3 and Stage III A. An engine mission regulations effective in the U.S. EPA and European Union from 2006. Exhaust gas is partly re-combusted to reduce particle matter (PM) output and lower nitrogen oxide (NOx) levels. In addition, bio-degradable hydraulic oil is available for jobsites where special environmental cares is required.
