Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd Honors VIP Guest from Iraq

On November 11, 2009, Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd extended a warm welcome to their special guest, Mr. Abdullatif M. Jamal Rashid, the Minister of Water Resources of Iraq.

CEO and President of Hitachi Construction Machinery, Mr. Michijiro Kikawa warmly greets the Minister of Water Resources of Iraq, Mr. Abdullatif M. Jamal Rashid.

Mr. Rashid’s hosted VIP visit was a gesture of appreciation from Hitachi to Mr. Rashid and the Ministry of Water Resources (MOWR). Iraqi government sector projects currently utilize Hitachi ZX240LC-18 H18/Super Long, MA200, ZX200LC-3F/Standard Machine, and ZX200LC-3F H15/Super Long to construct and maintain canals/dams, municipal and industrial water supplies throughout the country.

Savanna Group CEO/Hitachi dealer for Iraq, Mr. Basim H. Zgayir was among the guests to honor Mr. Rashid. It was the collaborative efforts of MOWR and Savanna Group that put Hitachi machinery to work moving earth and reclaiming swampland for Al Swaib Farm in Basrah Province. This high profile restoration project was previously featured in Hitachi articles.

To the right of Mr. Rashid - Savanna Group CEO/Hitachi dealer for Iraq, Mr. Basim H. Zgayir was among the guests to honor Mr. Rashid.

“It’s a pleasure working closely with Mr. Rashid. He is a man of integrity and Savanna Group strives to render a long lasting and enjoyable relationship," stated Mr. Zgayir.

CEO and President of Hitachi Construction Machinery, Mr. Michijirou Kikawa, HCME Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Yasuhiko Nakaura, and HCM Chairman, Mr. Shungo Dazai expressed their gratitude. “Mr. Rashid is a vital force behind Iraq’s infrastructure growth. It is indeed Hitachi’s great honor to be such an active participant during this momentous time in global history," greeted President Kikawa.

“Our goal is to achieve a level of dynamic efficiency that not only meets current requirements but also optimizes the future utilization of the nation’s water resources," said the Minister. Mr. Rashid graciously received all acknowledgements and shared his appreciation for Hitachi and Savanna Group for all their loyal, hard work supporting Iraqi citizens and their communities.
