On November 3, 2009, HCME Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Yasuhiko Nakaura and Mr. Sonosuke Ishii, General Manager of HCM/Russia/CIS/Middle East Department, paid a special visit to Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) N.V., Middle East Center.

MEC General Manager, Mr. Mutsumi Kitai launched the occasion with a warm address welcoming Mr. Nakaura and Mr. Ishii on their Middle East Dealer visit. The casual VIP gathering was an enlightening day with all MEC staff participating and gaining insight from their special guests.

The motivated, forward thinking of Hitachi’s Chief Operating Officer proved inspirational. Yasuhiko Nakaura spoke of his general background and experience with Hitachi. His tone set an infectious upbeat mood: “Good leadership and proper motivation is vital for keeping employees in high spirits even during periods of acute recession."

Mr. Nakaura and Mr. Ishii, two leaders fueled with positive outlooks, gratefully acknowledged the hard work of all departments. “Learning from the challenging times makes for a better future in all areas of life," said Nakaura and then he added, “Periods of recession act as a litmus test for a large organization to keep their team together."

Mr. Nakaura discussed the present market condition expressing his appreciation to Mr. Kitai and all the MEC staff for putting forth an outstanding team performance. “When a team survives and thrives during difficult times, their strength becomes supreme for the fruitful times. The MEC collaborative effort will surely enhance sales and marketing activities."
