Hitachi Construction Machinery Middle East Center Istanbul Office combined efforts with Enka Pazarlama and presented a power packed one-day seminar for Turkish Coal Enterprises (TKI) management. A member of ENKA Group, Enka Pazarlama for over 35 years has been contributing their expertise to the construction machinery/heavy vehicles industry throughout Turkey.

Enka Izmir Branch was the chosen location for the intense conference. The select group of TKI managers participated in a day filled with thorough discussion and elaboration on all open pit mining subjects, with specific topics including - fleet selection and match up, fleet management, optimum selection of excavators or wheel loaders, backhoe or shovel, cable shovel vs. hydraulic excavator, and electric drive hydraulic excavators and their operating cost comparisons. The new Hitachi AC drive mining trucks and their comparison with mechanic drive and DC drive trucks also filled the agenda.

TKI, Turkey's largest lignite producer has a production capacity of approximately 45 million tons per year. With coal mining sites throughout Turkey, this State Economic Enterprise has a total coal overburden removal and lignite coal production that exceed hundreds of millions of cubic meters per annum. Their fleet of big size excavators and dump trucks exceeds all, thus TKI will continue to be an esteemed and valued Hitachi client.

The day before the seminar, arrangements were made for TKI managers from the head office and all TKI Branches to visit a Turkish goldmine. The TKI team was escorted to Tuprag Gold, in Usak City. Here they witnessed the giant Hitachi EX3600-6 shovels hard at work.
