8-kilometer Ring Road Project of Muscat for Muscat Municipality
Al Fairuz Trading & Contracting Company, LLC, Oman - Supplied approximately 53 Hitachi excavators, ZX400, ZX350 and ZX240 in 2008 & 10 nos. Zx470 in 2009, to Desert Line Projects, LLC. Desert Line Projects LLC executes Ring Road Project of Muscat for Muscat Municipality. This 8-kilometer road project in Qurum-Muscat, Oman utilizes Hitachi, CAT, and Komatsu machinery. Hitachi ZX470, ZX400, ZX350 and ZX240 with hydraulic hammers carve through and level hard rock mountain terrain up to 120 feet high. The new ring road will provide needed access to summit buildings.

We inspected the ring road jobsite and observed steep, rocky terrain with some areas over 100 feet high needed excavating and leveling for pathway construction. Our solution was ZX400, ZX350 and ZX240. These medium excavators are currently being used under extreme and similar conditions for copper mining projects near Dubai. The machines are known for their durability, productivity and maneuverability. ZX400 has a maximum digging reach on ground of 10,860 mm combined with a maximum cutting height of 10, 320 mm. ZX400, ZX350 and ZX240 with hydraulic hammers have increased swing torque and traction force. The lifting capacity of this series does not exceed 75% of tipping load with the machine on firm, level ground, or 87% full hydraulic capacity. These machines are unmatched for this job class. Due to the location and the completion date, our Mobile Field Service available 24/7 can provide any maintenance needed assuring all Desert Line Projects deadlines to be met.

ZX400 has a swing speed of 10.7 min-1 (rpm). The High-Low automatic transmission system allows travel speeds of High: 0 to 5.0 km/h and Low: 0 to 2.9 km/h. Due to Hitachi’s impressive technology and the on-site support from Al Fairuz, there has been no downtime. The reliability and support provided make an important contribution to our business.
