We introduce CSR activity policy, CSR Promotion System, and CSR Activities.
CSR management
We set our CSR objectives and our group CSR policy in fiscal 2005, and is conducting CSR activities based on the policy.
Corporate governance
There is strong worldwide demand for transparent corporate management. We became a committee-style corporate governance company in 2003.
Compliance
Our group promotes compliance activities not only to comply with the law but also to conform with ethics and to respond to social demands.
Risk management
Considering appropriate handling of natural disasters, scandals and other risks as one of the important management challenges, we established the Risk Management Div. The Division analyzes a wide variety of risks in the company, appoints organizations to assume responsibility for individual important risk, and establishes rules for handling risks that occur.
Product quality and safety
Our group has implemented a strict quality assurance system to ensure that products manufactured at any plant or factory in the world are of identical quality, with the slogan "Made by HITACHI".
Information disclosure and communications
We consider all of our stakeholders to be our partners in business management. With this in mind, we strive to enhance relationships of trust with communities through ample communication and information disclosure.
Information security and personal information protection
Our group promotes the utilization of information technology (IT) and improvements in information security. Our group also properly manages personal information protection under Personal Information Protection Structure.
Customer satisfaction
We gathered demands from customers while talking with them at exhibitions and plant observation tours and through sales and service activities performed all over the world. Our group operates Global e-Service and performs VEC activities, etc., making the most of customer demands to raise customer satisfaction.
Employee satisfaction, employment, occupational safety and health
We address CSR on the basis of "human resource development." We established an education structure to cover our group. Hierarchal, functional, selective, optional and other variations support career development of our group employees. Moreover, we conduct a wide range of activities for human resource development and occupational safety and health measures to establish a comfortable working environment.
Social Contribution
Our group promotes social contribution activities on the three major themes of humanitarian support, community coexistence and environmental conservation, which we can make the most of the features of our group, based on our group social contribution policy.
Environmental Conservation
Our group set up the Global Environment Charter as the foundation of environmental conservation activities, and positively promotes environmental conservation activities of our group.
Business Partner
Our group performs business all over the world, supported by many suppliers and agents. Our group asks our business partners to promote their CSR activities in support of ours together with business partners.
