Hitachi Construction Machinery (Malaysia) CSR seminar

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Malaysia) held a CSR seminar on June 12, 2008, in collaboration with Hitachi Asia (Malaysia). Attending the seminar were their employees at assistant manager level and above, and staff from Hitachi Elevator Engineering, Hitachi Plant Engineering and other Hitachi Group companies.

First, Mr. Florence Chow from Hitachi Asia presented a lecture on corporate ethics at the seminar. Mr. Chow talked about the anti-corruption law of Malaysia, export control, corporate ethics and compliance to raise the awareness of Hitachi Group employees concerning ethics and compliance.

The following lecture concerned new-type influenza, which was prevalent in a country adjoining Malaysia, from the aspect of risk management. Dr. Beh presented an outline of bird flu and explained the threat of a pandemic of new-type influenza. This was followed by a lecture from the Ministry of Health of Malaysia on government measures to deal with a pandemic.
