Participation in investment forum for Women

Investment forum for Women was held again in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, on September 21 this year. Investment forum for Women sponsored by Nikko Investor Relations, and Nikko Cordial Securities as the cosponsor is held annually. The aim of the forum is spreading awareness of the participating companies among women and attracting women investors who are new shareholders. Participating companies had booths and gave presentations highlighting their business features in the forum. This was the first time for us to participate in the forum, because our main products - construction machinery - tend to attract the interest of men rather than women.

Although this was the first time for us to participate in the forum, our presentation was fully booked in advance. Mr. Kuwahara, senior vice president and executive officer, made a presentation called "Hitachi Construction Machinery Group is playing an important role worldwide today as always", which included an outline of the company, the business performed all over the world and business plans. In questionnaires handed out after the presentation, 94 of the 217 attendees indicated a desire to invest in us. Also, many commented that explanations were humorous and easy to understand.

The booth exhibition displayed the activities for demining and Hi-OSS to convey understanding that we contribute to society and take good care of the environment. Despite the short display time, 555 people visited the booth. Our staff at the booth requested visitors to complete the questionnaire and tried to talk with them.
