Increase in hiring of people with physical disabilities
Hitachi Sumitomo Heavy Industries Construction Crane failed to meet the statutory percentage of employees with physical disabilities as of the end of fiscal 2007 because some employees with physical disabilities left the company, so increasing the hiring of such people became one of the targets in their activity plan for fiscal 2008. They publicized the work offer at the public employment agency and in job magazines, and participated in job interview gatherings. As a result, they were able to hire one person with physical disabilities in July and two more in August. They will continue to strive to set up an environment that is easy for people with physical disabilities to work in and employ more people with physical disabilities.
