Conducting the employees satisfaction survey

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) surveys their employee satisfaction every year. As usual, they conducted the employee satisfaction survey in fiscal 2008 by distributing questionnaires to their employees. The questionnaires had 62 questions divided into twelve categories such as the degree of work satisfaction, the benefits valued and the clarification of roles, and three ordinary questions. A total of 456 employees, amounting to 61.6% of the total, responded to the questionnaire, and they analyzed the responses. Then they reported the results of the analysis and presented proposals based on the results to the directors.

In response to the results of the survey into employee satisfaction, They are striving to improve communications between the managers and the employees, and is implementing measures such as giving presentations called "HIT-B-10" where their directors visit premises to inform all of their employees of their vision and targets, to share these with the employees. They also provide training on equal opportunity and treatment in employment to the employees.

They will continue to endeavor to raise the satisfaction of the employees with measures based on the results of the annual employee satisfaction survey.
