Acquisition of environmental management system certificates

We considered establishment of a managing system as a driver of environmental activities. We acquired and implemented ISO14001 certification for Tsuchiura Works as early as 1977. We recommend implementation of systems to manage the environment at group companies and business establishments outside Japan to promote the activities of the whole group in conserving the environment. The East Japan Division and the West Japan Division, which perform sales and service, acquired ISO14001 certification in August 2007. They are the second non-manufacturing business establishments to acquire the certification after the head office. Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing in Canada also acquired ISO14001 certification in November. We will implement the environmental management system at more business establishments including non-manufacturing business establishments.
