Promotion and expansion of using EAP

EAP(Employee Assistance Program) is a program which support employees to look after their mental and physical health. The program consists of three services, namely (1) mental health consultations, (2) 24 hours a day telephone health service, and (3) legal consultations.

We introduced the EAP in July 2007. In fiscal 2008, we introduced the details of EAP in our in-house magazine in April, and conducted redistribution of its usage guide and distribution of leaflets about EAP to promote its use. We also requested the group companies in Japan to introduce EAP, and all of group companies in Japan, except for one firm, which judged that EAP was not necessary for them, introduced EAP as a result by April 2008.

As a result of the efforts to promote and expand the use of EAP, the number of employees using the services reached 195 (excluding Hitachi Kenki Business Frontier and TCM, which have their own employee assistance programs). We will continue to make efforts to ensure the physical and mental health of the employees by promoting the use of EAP.
