Developing the abilities of employees for the leasing business

Our group not only manufactures and sells construction machinery and provides after sales services for the machinery, but also offers services related to construction machinery such as offering loans, leasing machines and selling used machines for users. The leasing business is one of the major businesses in Japan. We foster employees who are capable of carrying out the leasing business to further expand the business.

In fiscal 2008 we provided a wide range of training programs to the employees of Hitachi Construction Machinery REC, such as middle management training, training about safety, hierarchal and functional training courses, and Hitachi Construction Machinery REC's original training courses (including training in manners). Training courses for the middle management are particularly important in order to develop the core employees who manage the leasing business. We held the courses once a month over a period of eight months. Fiscal 2008 was the third year of the provision of the middle management training courses. Twelve employees who have been selected to be the core employee at each of the premises attended the training classes. They studied the issues necessary to improve business at the premises, such as teamwork and attracting new customers.

A total of 1,166 employees of Hitachi Construction Machinery REC attended the training courses stated above. We will continue to foster employees to carry out the leasing business through the use of the training program.
