Developing the abilities of employees at group companies

(So) 2010 -- for the new stage", which is the medium-term management plan, aims to make rapid business progress by strengthening three elements, namely (1) hardware (products), (2) software (services), and (3) regions. The base for the strengthening of the three elements is the development of human resources. Fostering the abilities of employees at group companies is becoming increasingly important in order to expand business.

Under the circumstances as stated above, we established Kasumigaura Institute in April 2007 to enhance training. Thanks to this institute, the number of employee attending group training classes, such as hierarchal training sessions (including training classes for newly hired employees) and subjective training sessions has risen significantly from 337 trainees in fiscal 2006, to 582 in fiscal 2007, up to 768 trainees in fiscal 2008 (this figure would be 888 if we include 120 employees who attended training sessions outside Japan). The number of our group company employees who participated in training sessions also rose considerably from 148 in fiscal 2006 to 369 in fiscal 2008 (comprising 42% of all of the trainees). The number of trainees from group companies outside Japan reached 134 in fiscal 2008 because of the training programs outside Japan.

Training session for newly hired employees (newly hired employees at the group companies will be accepted in fiscal 2009)

We will accept employees of the group companies in its group training programs (up to about 40% of the total trainees) in order that the employees of group companies can have the same training as our employees. We provide training programs at group companies in Japan and outside Japan as required, to develop the abilities of the employees of the group companies.
