MINExpo International 2008 and investor relations meeting
MINExpo International 2008 took place at a convention center in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S., for three days from September 22 to September 24, 2008. MINExpo, known as the biggest expo of mining machinery in the world, was held for the first time in four years. About 1,300 companies and associations exhibited machinery at the expo, which attracted about 42,000 visitors during the expo.
John Deere and our group together exhibited the ultra-large hydraulic excavators EX5500-6 and EX3600-6 and the rigid dump truck EH3500ACII at a booth of approximately 2,000m2 in size, which attracted many people. Of particular interest was the electric EH3500ACII with an AC drive, marketed in September, and exhibited for the first time in the U.S.

We also held investor relations meetings with institutional investors and analysts during the expo. We had one large meeting and one breakfast meeting where we talked about matters relating to our mining business including market conditions, customers' investment trends, our orders, the share of ultra-large excavators in operation, and our technologies. We also explained our strategy for large dump trucks, which are most in demand among mining machinery, including the opening of a new factory and the development plan of electric driven dump trucks.
