About the "Hitachi Construction Machinery Group CSR Report 2009"

Hitachi Construction Machinery Group has been issuing CSR reports since 2006 to better assist our various stakeholders gain an understanding of our group. Stakeholders include: customers, shareholders, business partners, employees, as well as people in the local community.

For this the fourth year of the CSR report, we have included larger photos to raise the interest of our readers, focused on the environmental conscience of the Group, and set a topic section as the main part. We have also included messages from many of our employees who are performing activities related to corporate social responsibility (CSR) in order to convey their views to stakeholders.

This report mainly covers the period April 1, 2008 to March 31,2009, but may include relevant information before or after these dates.
