Open house at Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing

Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing, the manufacturer of trucks in Canada, held an open house on August 25, 2008. It was fine on the day, and about 2,000 people, including employees' families, retirees, business partners, and local people visited the plant.

They held the open house at the time of completion of the biggest electrically-operated rigid dump truck EH5000ACII (length : 15m, width : 9m, height : 7.5m, tire diameter : 3.3m, loading capacity : 310t). So visitors were able to get on and try out the driver's seat. This was so popular that a queue formed. They also exhibited the rigid dump trucks EH1100-3 and EH1700, which is their product line.

After looking over the exhibited products and the plant, visitors watched a video and enjoyed a barbecue - typical Canadian meal. There was a play area for children, and children received balloons as a present.

The efforts of the staff ensured that the open house was a success. They will hold more open houses to enhance the contact with their families and local people.
