Presentation the activities for demining at Hitachi uValue Convention 2008
Hitachi uValue Convention 2008, sponsored by Hitachi, Ltd., was held at Tokyo International Forum on July 17 and 18 with the theme, "Information Community Renaissance by New Collaborative Creation". The two-day event attracted more than 30,000 visitors.

Participating in the convention as a member of the Hitachi Group, we presented our activities for demining. At our booth we displayed panels and models of mines and showed a documentary film about the demining efforts of Mr. Amemiya, the president of Yamanashi Hitachi Construction Machinery. Lots of people stopped by our booth and watched the documentary.

On the 18th, in a large auditorium, Mr. Amemiya gave a talk titled "The challenge of demining" on the tragic damage caused by mines and on our activities for demining, using videos and photos. About 2,000 people listened attentively to the speech. We believe that the audience was made aware of the damage caused by mines and of our activities concerning clearing mines.
