West Japan Division cooperates blood donation

West Japan Division employees donated blood to the Japanese Red Cross Society as part of efforts to contribute to society on January 16, 2009. This is an annual event in the division. This year, of the 40 employees volunteering, 32 gave 400ml of blood each.

Volunteers answer medical questions asked by a nurse at first. Then they have their blood pressure and blood specific gravity or hemoglobin quantity measured to avoid the risk of anemia. If these fulfill blood donation standards, they can give blood.

During the testing of whether blood may be donated or not

Employees who gave blood looked a little nervous at first, but afterwards, refreshed, as if released from stress. This change in appearance is impressive every year.

From this year, all donors are also tested for diabetes. Anybody in good health aged between 16 and 69 can donate blood for people in need. Donors learn about the state of their health through the results of their blood tests. Everybody! How about volunteering to give blood?
