Presenting our activities for demining at Global Festa Japan 2008
Global Festa Japan 2008 took place on October 4 and 5 in Hibiya Park, Tokyo. This event, with the theme "Messages for our Earth -- We are Global Citizens", was held in collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan NGO Center for International Cooperation (JANIC). We participated in the event because the event was an opportunity for firms and NGOs to raise awareness of their activities that contribute to society. The event was very successful, with 110 booths of embassies and international organizations, 7 booths of the corporate sponsors, and 110 NGO booths.

In our company booth we displayed a rotary cutter and the operation cab of demining equipment used in the first demining test in Cambodia, and presented the activities for demining carried out by us and Yamanashi Hitachi Construction Machinery. We also displayed exhibiting models of mines and presented the background of demining equipment development using DVD.

The weather was fine, and many people visited our booth, so we believe that we were able to deepen awareness of our activities for demining through this event. In addition, we also presented the activities of an NPO called Good Earth Japan we extensively support. Good Earth Japan received donations of Japanese Yen ¥24,696 in support of its activities to help residents in mine-cleared areas become independent.
