Participating in "Plant for Planet -- the billion tree planting campaign -- in Thailand"

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Thailand) group began to participate in the Plant for Planet in Thailand of the Foundation for Global Peace and Environment as a member of Hitachi Thailand Group from fiscal 2007.

In fiscal 2008, Plant for Planet in Thailand -- the billion tree planting campaign was held in collaboration with the Sirindhorn International Environmental Park Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment of Thailand, the Department of Environmental Quality, and the Foundation for Global Peace and the Environment. They participated in the campaign, as they did in the campaign of the previous year, because Hitachi was a special sponsor.

An opening ceremony and a commemorative tree planting ceremony were held in the presence of Queen Sirindhorn in Sirindhorn International Environmental Park on July 19. They donated a mini-excavator, a ZX17U model. This was the second excavator they donated, because they also donated an excavator last year. About fifty of their employees helped in the planting of 8,000 nursery trees.

They will continue to participate in the project as a member of the Hitachi Group for global environmental conservation.
