Yamanashi Hitachi Construction Machinery receives Asahi Corporate Citizen Award

Yamanashi Hitachi Construction Machinery received the 5th Asahi Corporate Citizen Award which commends excellent corporate contribution to society. This award was set up in 2004 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Asahi Shimbun newspaper, and is presented to companies with projects that continuously contribute to society in an advanced and original manner, regarding the categories of corporate ethics, community coexistence, collaboration with NPOs and NGOs, environmental protection, assistance in education and culture, and promotion of globalization.

This year three companies were selected from among 175 submissions entered by firms and associations all over Japan. Yamanashi Hitachi Construction Machinery's lengthy activities that have been contributing to the international community, such as the development of demining equipment and efforts to restore damaged areas, were highly acclaimed. At a ceremony to present the awards on October 23, Mr. Amemiya, the president of Yamanashi Hitachi Construction Machinery, accepted the award and addressed the attendees.
