Export control training for relevant sections
Concerning export control training, we taught the list controls and catch-all controls, etc as part of compliance training during the training sessions for newly hired employees and new section managers. We also provide practical work training to export sales staff, service staff, engineers at Tsuchiura Works and to the staff of export-related sections of group companies that include a summary of catch-all controls and the export control procedures of our group.
In fiscal 2008, we provided export control training to export sales staff and service staff working at the head office in September 2008 and February 2009, and training sessions of two and a half hours in length to engineers at Tsuchiura Works in June 2008 and March 2009. We also provided export control training sessions to five of group companies in Japan, including Hitachi Kenki Logistics Technology and Hitachi Construction Machinery Trading, and to group companies located outside Japan, namely the head office and Middle East Center of Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe), and Hitachi Construction Machinery Asia and Pacific.
Altogether, 462 employees, mainly staff of export-related sections of our group attended practical work training to learn about export control. In fiscal 2009 we will primarily provide training to those group companies that we did not provided with training programs in fiscal 2008, but we will also provide training again to employees who already received this training in fiscal 2008 to ensure thorough compliance with export control.
