Compliance trainings to all employees of group companies in Japan

We raise the awareness of compliance in group companies in Japan through training for managers, questionnaire-based surveys of employees, and training for employees based on the results of questionnaires. We perform this process not only to reveal and rectify problems related to compliance at each of group companies, but also to enable each company to ensure and maintain the awareness of compliance. In fiscal 2007, we provided training to group company managers, and conducted a questionnaire-based survey of employees on compliance.

In fiscal 2008 we provided 90-minute compliance trainings to all employees of 28 group companies in Japan (including 18 companies in the TCM group, but excluding Hitachi Construction Machinery REC, Okinawa Hitachi Construction Machinery and Hitachi Construction Machinery Leasing, which we provided with trainings in fiscal 2007, and Hitachi Construction Machinery Tierra, for which we plan to provide a training in fiscal 2009.), focusing on the problems of each company revealed by the results of the compliance questionnaire conducted in fiscal 2007. At the trainings, we reported each company result of the compliance questionnaire, and presented examples of scandalous events at other companies and the basics of compliance including points of note in day-to-day work. The number of compliance trainees in attendance amounted to 5,192 people, because we provided the training to seventeen companies of TCM group all over Japan, in collaboration with TCM's head office.
