Improving the green supplier rate

Improving the green procurement rate is one of the major themes in our activities concerning corporate social responsibility. So we requests major suppliers to get environment management system (EMS) certificates to raise our green supplier rate (the rate of suppliers who have an environment management system certificate).

In fiscal 2008, seven suppliers got an EMS certificate, and the number of suppliers who have EMS certificate is 107. As a result 88 percent of suppliers have an EMS among the 122 suppliers who we requested to get an EMS certificate. We will continue to make efforts to urge our suppliers to get EMS certificates including the provision of support to the suppliers such as giving useful information toward our goal of 100 percent EMS acquisition by our suppliers in fiscal 2010.
