Our German agent, Kiesel, donated 70,000 Euro to NPO, Good Earth Japan

Our agent in Germany, Kiesel, organized a tour to Japan for customers from April 12 to April 18. As part of the program, Mr. Amemiya, the president of Yamanashi Hitachi Construction Machinery, gave a speech concerning our activities for demining to the people on the tour on April 16. After the speech, Mr. Toni Kiesel, the president of Kiesel, donated €70,000 to an NPO called "Good Earth Japan" through Mr. Amemiya, the special advisor of the NPO, in front of 44 customers. He said that he wanted this to be used to build schools in Cambodia.

In September 2007, we organized a tour for the presidents of the European agents to learn about Hitachi Construction Machinery. Mr. Amemiya gave a speech concerning our activities for demining to them. One of them was Mr. Toni Kiesel. Moved by the speech, he has wanted to assist in our activities for demining since then. He distributed pamphlets of Good Earth Japan at the party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Kiesel last year. This action led to the donation this year.

We extensively support Good Earth Japan, as we endorse the purpose of the establishment of the NPO, which is assisting local people living on mine clearance land to become independent through the use of the land. As part of this support, we call on our employees and group companies to offer support, and are pleased that on this occasion the activity has widened to an agent, who is our business partner in Germany.
