PROBE Oil Analysis

The easiest and most reliable way to see what's going on inside your equipment is through the use of PROBE Oil analysis.
Facts
An important fact to remember is that 75-80% of hydraulic system failures are due to some form of contamination. Regular oil sampling allows you to detect the contamination early before it can cause a major and expensive failure to occur.
PROBE Oil Sampling is done through an Independent NATA certified oil laboratory and Hitachi have provided the proprietary wear data and machine profiles for the full range of Hitachi, Deere and Timberjack equipment so the oil analysis done can provide the most meaningful recommendations concerning the equipment being tested. Sampling done on other products is still done using generic component information but because the full range of certified testing is done a complete and accurate picture of the component condition can be obtained.
Manufacturer owned oil analysis companies can give an accurate interpretation on the equipment they supply but in many cases the tests they use (by there own admission) are internally developed to best suit the manufactures equipment and as such are usually not certified to any standard apart from the manufacturers. For testing done on all other products (just like PROBE) they use standard interpretations of oil samples based on generic component information but because standard certified testing is in many cases not done a complete and accurate picture of the component condition cannot be obtained. This could lead to problems being missed and otherwise avoidable failures occurring.
PROBE sampling kits can be purchased from your closest Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) dealer as single sample bottles or in conveniently grouped kits including prepaid courier bags. PROBE have two laboratories one in Sydney and the other in Perth to allow the fast turn around of samples once received.

Sample results are available via the Internet and hard copies of the reports are also mailed out to you for your maintenance records. Take action reports are either emailed directly to a designated email address or faxed to the fax number provided on the information card with the sample.
