New Darwin Branch completed and open for business
1 Mar, 2009
It was time to put the original Darwin branch to rest. First established back in 1967, the Hitachi Darwin branch survived several severe natural disasters over the years, including Cyclone Tracy on Christmas Day in 1975. The branch survived the 240km/h gusts without too much damage, and continued as our base of operations in the Northern Territory until September 2008, when construction of the new branch, located in Berrimah, was completed. The decision to create a new branch was made in July 2007, and construction began a few months later in December. With a floor space of 2244m2, and an impressive contemporary design, next time you’re in Darwin be sure to come in and take a look.
