The New Generation Hitachi ZW Wheel Loader

Following the acquisition of TCM Corporation by Hitachi Construction Machinery, Hitachi realised the potential for the development of a technologically advanced, “New Generation" wheel loader. TCM contained the experience in manufacturing and performance of wheel loaders as well as an understanding of car bodies, transmissions and axles. HCM possessed a sound comprehension of engine and hydraulic pressure control, electronics, environmental sustainability and simulation analysis. The combination of these skills, matched with an un-waving desire to produce a world class wheel loader, has resulted in the development of the fantastic new Hitachi ZW Wheel Loader range.

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd (HCA) will be introducing the Hitachi ZW Wheel Loaders into the Australian market from September 2008. Initially the range will include six wheel loaders, with the model designations, ZW140, ZW250, ZW180, ZW220, ZW250 and ZW310 and engine capacities between 96kW and 220kW. This range will be expanded over time to include additional models, to encompass more of the Australian Wheel Loader market.

The new Hitachi ZW Wheel Loaders have been designed with the customer in mind. These wheel loaders offer an incredible array of innovative technologies, mechanics and options, which deliver increased productivity, reduced operation costs, enhanced safety and superior operator comfort. Additionally, while Hitachi is committed to improving machine effi ciency, with the ZW Wheel Loader, this has been implemented with signifi cant consideration of the equipment’s surroundings and environment, particularly with regards to noise levels and exhaust emissions.

It is anticipated that the ZW Wheel Loaders will make an immediate impact on the Australian market, particularly as these are expected to deliver a signifi cant improvement in load and run performance.
